"Glow This Way" Fine Art Print
This is an image taken in eastern New Mexico near the High Lonesome Wind Farm (the red lights) that captures the phenomenon referred to as air glow. Air glow happens when oxygen particles in the high upper atmosphere get super excited and release energy in the for of green and sometimes red light that is just barely visible and nearly impossible to see with the naked eye, but can occasionally be picked up by my camera in super dark skies. This image also includes Cygnus region of the Milky Way!
